De-Bunking the Mystery of Online Colleges

Online colleges and classes are still a mystery to many people. This mysterious nature of online classes and colleges has caused many people to start believing everything they hear about online colleges.

Here’s a look at some of the myths people have about online colleges and universities.

The Classes are Easier

People believe because the classes are online that must mean they are easier to take. That isn’t true. Online classes are just as challenging as traditional college classes. You are still expected to take tests, do class projects and participate in class even though it’s online.

Online Colleges Have Lower Quality Teachers

The myth that online colleges have lower quality teachers is another one that isn’t true. Many accredited online colleges use professors and teachers that teach in brick and mortar colleges or used to teach there. These teachers still have experience and expertise in the area that they are teaching.

Less Student Teacher Interactions

Another belief is that online colleges offer you less chance to interact with teachers. The truth is online classes offer you a better chance to interact with your teacher than traditional classes. You will have access to chat sessions, forums and emails where you can email and talk to your teacher directly. This is helpful if you want to discuss class materials or are having problems with your classes.

You Have to Have Technological Knowledge

Online colleges do not require you to have extensive technical knowledge. You need to know how to sign into the forums and type. You may also need to email and send documents but there is not extensive technological knowledge needed.
